Polyester DTY yarns are produced by texturising technology. Main texturising machinery makers are Barmag, Hongyuan, Aalidhara that are market leaders in world’s biggest Polyester DTY markets China and India.

Polyester DTY yarns are classified according to;

– lustre (semi-dull, bright, dull)

– Intermingling strength (non-intermingled, slight/light, high/strong)

– colour (available as raw white, black and dope dyed or cone dyed colours)

Polyester DTY Applications

Polyester DTY yarns are used in;

– Weaving as weft insertion yarn (non or slight intermingled)

– Weaving as warp yarn (sized or high/strong intermingled)

– Circular knitting, weft knitting and warp knitting

– Narrow weaving and braiding

– Other semi-technical applications

Havvafil™ covers other special use functional Polyester DTY yarns such as:

– Low dyeing temperature DTY yarns. These yarns dye at lower temperatures offering cost savings and lower carbon emissions.

– Cool Yarns ( Quick Dry yarn): Due to capillary formation during texturising Cool Yarns offer enhanced water permeability and allows quick drying of fabric surface. Often used in active sportswear where sweat evaporation is vital with skin contact. Hometextile and footwear also uses quick dry yarns.

– Sea Island DTY Yarn: This type of yarn offer microfiber surface when treated in alkali environment. Filaments split into multi filaments, offering suede effect fabric. Sea Island yarns used in knitting or weaving forms imitation suede or peach skin fabrics.

– Heather effect (2-tone, 3-tone): Cationic dyeable filament yarn intermingled with conventional DTY RW yarn gives 2-tone or 3-tone melange effect after dyeing.

– Conjugated yarn: Composed 80/20 Polyester/Nylon conjugated yarns similar to Sea island yarns offer microfilament upon chemical fabric treatment. Available in 50D/36F*12 up yo 600D/144F*12 .
